Description
The SDEC H series truck engine is popular on commercial vehicle market due to its small volume and strong power, as well as the advantages of a low fuel consumption, wide power coverage and large torque at low speed. It is offered with two engine models of 4.3 and 6.5L, with a power ranging from 120 to 280PS. It satisfies China IV and China V emission standards, making it the idle power choice for a new generation of light duty trucks and special cars.

The H series engine was designed jointly with the UK company RICARDO, referencing international, advanced technologies in engines and Chinese market features. It is a new generation, 4 calve, and lightweight engine that uses GPDP development processes, and manufactured using SAIC Motor manufacturing standards. Its reliability and economy are first class on a variety of levels.

Technical advantages and features Customer value
Fuel system The HP3 third generation of electronic control system that was customized by Denso for the H series has an injection pressure of 1800bar. It uses a ceramic coated 7-hole fuel injector from Denso. The precisely controlled multiple injection and vertically and centrally arranged fuel injector result in a uniform atomization and full combustion. The China IV and China V emission standards are satisfied. It has high reliability and long service life. The fuel consumption is 10% lower compared with the similar products.
Gas system Electronically controlled ECU, sensor, electronic throttle, sparking coil and other key parts are all from internationally known brands. Based on different application markets, the 4HT uses a BOSCH control system and the 7HT uses a WOODWARD control system. The China V emission standard is met. It is advanced, reliable and economically friendly.
Aspiration Method Using four-valves per cylinder, the turbocharger (optional for two-stage supercharging) and intercooler are installed to achieve higher air intake efficiency and reach the optimized power performance and economy. The optimized designs of the combustion chamber and eddy current ratio airway can increase the combustion efficiency. With a high power density and fast transient load response, the maximum torque reserve is up to 36% and the maximum torque reaches 1160N.m of 20% higher than the similar products. With strong power, the adaptability to working conditions is good. With low fuel consumption, the operation cost is low.
Design features According to international first-class engine standards and using a GPDP development process, it is designed jointly with the UK company RICARDO following an allowable peak pressure of 180bar. Rear gear chamber, high strength alloy cylinder block, closed-loop frame structure, diaphragm plate for main bearing and other designs of vibration and noise reduction are used. Its size is 77-140mm shorter than the similar products. The advanced nature and reliability are ensured. The noise is reduced by 3dB, ensuring quiet driving and operation. With convenient and flexible arrangement, the heat dissipation performance is great.
Reliability It uses a high strength frame type cylinder block structure and modular design, integrating the engine oil cooler, pump and oil pump. During the research and development stages, we conducted a 2000h testing of frame reliability and durability, and over 1 million km road test of plateau, in both extremely hot and cold environments. Automatic production and assembly lines for H series, customized by HELLER, KUKA, US0N and other international first-class equipment manufacturers, and MES control system are used. With reference to the SPS system guarantee of German Volkswagen manufacturing standards, the product features an excellent consistency and reliability. The maintenance cost is reduced. The plateau adaptability is good. Little to no downtime.
Matching adaptability With an optional displacement of 4.3L or 6.5L, and optional engine of diesel or natural gas, the operating power covers 60-162kW. Without an auxiliary air intake heating device, the cold starting temperature is -15℃. Based on the assembly configuration and actual operating condition, the engine and assembly are performed to matching optimization and customization. There are various configurations for flywheel, flywheel house, engine, air compressor, steering pump and other peripheral parts, and there are other various structures and types for the PT0 and oil pan. This equipment can use various fuel types and feature a wide power range. It has a good environmental adaptability. The power performance and economy are simultaneously optimized. It can meet a variety of application demands.
Repair and maintenance The CNC bus layout achieves an intelligent real-time diagnosis. The cracking connecting rod is easily accessed for maintenance. The electronically controlled system offers intelligent real-time diagnosis. The average overhaul interval is over 15000h, which is extended 50% longer than the similar products. With wear resistant valve mechanism design, the valve clearance adjustment interval is doubled. The maintenance is convenient with little to no downtime.
