Air conditioning units and terminal devices are both essential to modern HVAC systems. When the working condition of an HVAC system changes, a dynamic balancing valve is used to ensure the core components of a designed flow rate, which improves the overall HVAC system operating efficiency and achieves a building energy conservation.

Basic Controls’ dynamic balancing valve can be configured for different working modes, and is a dynamic pressure-independent automatic pipe control equipment, used to adjust the valve opening through sampling the valve position, media flow rate, or temperature difference.

The dynamic balancing valve uses ultrasonic measurement and PC management software to efficiently improve the operating efficiency of the HVAC system and conserve building energy. This solves faults found in common flow sensors often caused by a poor water circulation quality for an air conditioner.

Application and principles

① Applicable to FCU/AHU/PAU
Function 1: The maximum flow rate through the branch pipe in terminal equipment is limited following the design requirements.
Function 2: Automatic PID operating or control valve according to indoor temperature.

② Applicable to zone branch pipe.

Features
  • Through presetting, the dynamic balancing valve will control the flow rate and temperature difference to adjust the energy consumption per unit time.
  • Coil temperature difference (rT) is optimized through (rT) temperature difference manager to increase coil energy efficiency.
  • System energy efficiency is optimized by algorithm to obtain the media temperature, flow rate, energy consumption and other data.
  • Tracing and diagnosis functions help to better maintain the system.
  • The adoption of precision ultrasonic flow sensor and PT100 temperature sensor guarantees the measuring accuracy of temperature.
  • Equal percent flow characteristics helps to directly control the flow rate and feed back the actual flow rate timely, eliminating system deviation.
  • Convenient integrated installation allows for low installation cost and long service life.
  • Modbus and BACnet MS/TP communication protocols are applied.
