Why is it necessary to install wind fence in coal yards?

Dust control in coal yards is one of the most common concerns of of our customers. Dust control is necessary in coal-fired power plants, coal mining and stacking, coal terminals, coal ports and many other places. We set up wind fencing around the coal yard to reduce the wind speed in the yard and minimize the amount of dust blown into the surrounding environment.

By installing our wind and dust controlling systems, you can achieve the following effects:
  • Improving the surrounding environment of the coal yard and reduce the pollution of coal dust.
  • Improving the working environment in the coal yard.
  • Maximizing the number of suitable workdays in the coal yard.
The design basis of wind fence and dust suppression
  • We design our products according to common user problems in coal yards and their expected effects after improvement.
  • Our designs are based on the site plan and surrounding facilities.
  • Accurate information about the height of coal piles.
  • Information about local maximum wind speed, wind pressure and dominant wind direction.
  • Geological reports on the location of the project.
  • Approximate budget for installing wind and dust suppression.
The required materials for wind fence and dust suppression

The steel windbreak fencing consists of three parts: the foundation, steel structure and the steel windbreak panel. The steel structure is custom designed according to factors such as the coal pile height, wind load, desired earthquake resistance, etc. Each structural post for our coal pile wind fence is completed in our factory. The steel windbreak panels are fastened on the structure by stainless bolts and nuts.

The steel wind barrier is typically built along the border of coal storage yard in proper positions.

Specifications

Aperture ratio: 30%-40%
Width:250-300mm
Length:Max.6m

We will choose the suitable foundation, steel structure and the steel windbreak panel, as well as the related design drawing for customers according to the natural conditions of the storage yards.

Above is only part of the basic forms. We can design more basic forms according to specific conditions of the sites.

How to ensure the reliability of the wind fence system
Size of the wind tunnel
Maximum speed of the wind

In order to ensure the reliability of the wind fence system, we will carry out wind tunnel tests with simulated working conditions according to the system designed for the project to determine aerodynamic performance parameters. Then we can determine the optimal protective type and porosity, as well as the height of the wind fence system. We will test the layout of the wind fence. We have accumulated a set of effective specifications for dust suppression in the yard. Combined with the natural conditions of specific projects, yards and customers’ needs, we can provide different customers with personalized wind fence and dust suppression programs for coal, iron ore powder, coke yard and so on.

The wind fence for coal dust control we have designed
  • Wind and dust suppression project for Mariveles in Philippines

  • Wind and dust suppression project for Coal Terminal in Tianjin Port

  • Wind and dust suppression project for Coal Storage Yard in Jiangxi Coal Reserve Center

  • Wind and dust suppression project for Second Phase of Dandong Port
