Vertical Machining Center
The VMC-e series door-type 5-axis machining center was independently developed by SMTCL, with the die and mould industries in consideration. This vertical machining center is used for machining cavity dies, die moulds, cast moulds, press-through dies, stamping dies, etc. It is also suitable for machining thin-walled, shell-shaped, and frame-shaped parts with high efficiency.
The gantry or portal frame structure is superior to the conventional C-frame construction, providing higher rigidity, better thermal stability, and higher retention of accuracy. The Y-axis incorporates double ball-screws, which reduces vibration during operation. The box-in-box structure of the frame provides high rigidity, and faster machine axis response time. The regular-hexagon honeycomb rib grid system under the column guideway increases torsional rigidity, and reduces shrinkage stress during casting thereby increasing the machine performance. There is a fine oil lubrication system for the cutting tool, which reduces waste and preserves tool life, while providing exceptional cooling performance. This vertical machining center can be equipped with an oil-fog absorption device, tool measuring device, and various CNC systems as options.
