Vacuum airproof molding is a new molding technologyand belongs to physical molding method. Vacuum airproof molding uses dry sand(no water, additive and chemicals) as molding sand, a layer of plastic film isheated up and covers the dry sand, and the air in the mold is pumped out totighten the dry sand with the help of pressure.
Compared with other molding methods, this vacuum molding has advantage asfollows:
1) It uses fine dry sand, no need ofadhesive or chemicals. The surface quality of castings is very good and fewdefects.
2) It is easy to demouldbecause there is a layer of plastic film between the casting and mold.
3) The molding sand is perfectly tightened,so it can be used to cast very thin castings.
4) Almost all the molding sand can bereused because there is no adhesive added to it.Therefore, the production cost is reduced.
5) The structure of this machine is simple,and it occupied less area. So the cost is reduced. It is easy to maintenance.
6) It depends on negative pressure tomould. It is easy to clean up, no black smoke, less dust, no vibration, and lownoise.
7) It is suitable for medium and big casingmolding. And this casting should have simple structure and less coresetting.
