Applications

Biochemistry: It is a steroid demethylation (ergosterol biosynthesis) inhibitor.
Mode of action: It is a systemicfoliar fungicide with protective and curative action, with translocationacropetally in the xylem.
Uses: Propinconazole is a systemic foliar fungicide with abroad range of activity, at 100-150 g/ha.On cereals, it controls diseases caused by Cochliobolus sativus, Erysiphegraminis, Leptosphaeria nodorum, Puccinia spp., Pyrenophora teres, Pyrenophoratritici-repentis, Rhynchosporium secalis, and Septoria spp. In bananas, controlof Mycosphaerella musicola and Mycosphaerella fijiensis var. difformis. Otheruses are in turf against Sclerotinia homoeocarpa, Rhizoctonia solani, Pucciniaspp. and Erysiphe graminis; in rice against Rhizoctonia solani,Helminthosporium oryzae, and dirty panicle complex; in coffee against Hemileiavastatrix; in peanuts against Cercospora spp.; in stone fruit against Moniliniaspp., Podosphaera spp., Sphaerotheca spp. and Tranzschelia spp.; in maizeagainst Helminthosporium spp.
