PS-5 Single Phase Electromechanical Watt-Hour Meter
PS-5 Single Phase Electromechanical Watt-Hour Meter
The single phase electromechanical watt-hour meter is designed to meetthe IEC60521-1988 and BS EN 60521 standards for both indoor and outdoorinstallations. The meter with mechanical construction complying BS5685 is alsoavailable. With accuracy of class 2, it measures active energy in single-phasetwo-wire or three-wire alternating current power grids.
Features
1. Connection is direct or by instrument transformers.
2. The average service life (MTTF)is 10 years and themaximum overload capacity is 500%lb.
3. The meter is KEMA certified and the design can be tailored to differentcustomer requirements.
Components of Single Phase Watt-Hour Meter
1. Metercase
Two types of cases are available One is the insulating case ofprotective-class and the other is the weather-proof case complying to IEC60529 and Ip54
2. Terminal block
The terminal block is molded of bakelite. The voltage test link can be locatedinside or out-side of the meter case. The maximum diameter of the terminal holeis 8.5mm.
3. Driving element
The driving element consists of a voltage element anda current element, both of which are fixed to the frame. The voltage elementhas a low load adjustment mechanism, and the current
element has an inductive load adjustment mechanism.
4. Rotor
The rotor shaft is made of aluminum alloy with a small hole in the upper endfor storing lubrication and for fitting a brass bearing Theworm is turned of brass, and is acid-cleaned or nickel-plated.
The worm and shaft can be detached.
5. Braking element
The magnet is made of AINiCo5 alloy and designed asU-shaped so that the effect of short-time over current upon the magnet isnegligible. The full load error can be fine controlled by adjustment mechanism.
6. Frame
The frame is die-casted by high-quality SiAl alloy of stable property to avoid distortion. Theapplication of static spray-painting on the surface prevents the frame fromoxidation.
7. Upper bearing
The pin is made of high-quality abrasion-proofstainless steel and is embedded on the brass pin base.
8. Lower bearing
Both double jewel bearing and magnetic bearing areavailable.
9. Register
The meter with direct-reading cyclometer type register is available.
The register is self-located and is mounted on the frame by one screw. Fixingwith two screws is also available but needs to be manually adjusted. There aretwo types of gears available: brass gears and self-lubricating plastic gears.
