Moving Gantry Turning Milling Center
Our moving gantry turning milling center is designed and developed independently by the Shenyang- Schiess CNC machine tool business unit of SMTCL.
The general configuration of this turning milling center is a moving gantry consisting of two columns with cross-brace, and a cross rail that moves vertically on the columns.
This is a machine series of world-class quality which is designed to provide top-level machining capability, extreme accuracy, and high efficiency. This turning milling center incorporates fully automatic head-changing technology to make the process of machining as automated as possible, and the control system insures the safety of both personnel and equipment. Turning a rotary curved surface such as an external diameter, or an internal diameter, or end facing, can be accomplished in one setup. Milling, drilling, tapping, can be done using the same setup.
GTM500200 moving gantry turning milling center is used for the machining of large-size complex rotary parts with high accuracy, and multiple operations. Good for the industrial fields of aerospace, ship-building and repair, wind power generation, and many others. Using this moving gantry turning milling center will eliminate the need for some operations to be done on other machines, reduce set-up time, improve accuracy of the finished part and, overall, increase productivity.
The main drive of our turning milling center controls double spindle motors of high power and wide range of speed. Backlash is eliminated for the C-axis in milling mode, and likewise it is employed while in turning mode. The worktable is supported on a hydrostatic guide-way, and this makes for large load capacity, dramatically reduced friction, high machining accuracy, and long service life.
The hydrostatic guideways employed on the X, Y, Z and W axes increase the rigidity of movement along these axes, reduces friction, increases positioning accuracy and repeatability, and increases the longevity of our turning milling center.
The turning milling machine is equipped with multi-attachment heads that can be automatically changed. A universal boring and milling head with B-axis is available, as are indexing and right-angle boring and milling heads, straight boring and milling heads, and multi-station heads for turning, depending on the user\'s requirements. Boring and milling heads can have external and internal coolant systems.
The technology of the ram spindle is such that the unit is very compact and is incorporated into the ram itself, improving the reliability of our turning milling centers.
