M.O.V Shielded Sub-Surge Arrester
TheCEE AKBLQ-H M.O.V shielded sub-surgearrester combines metal oxide varistortechnology in a pre-molded rubber elbow to provide over-voltagesystem protection in an insulated, full shielded, submersible, dead-frontdevice. It is typically used at the end point of a radial circuit or at theopen point of a loop-feed circuit to provide surge protection in a more compactconfiguration. The M.O.V. shieldedsub-surge arrester housing interface conformsto ANSI/IEEE 386 standard 386--Separable Insulated Connector System. Thearrester housing is molded with high quality EPDM insulating material, whenmated with a comparably rated product; it provides a fully shielded insulatingconnecter for energized operation. This M.O.V. shielded sub-surge arresterprovides high voltage lighting and switching surge protection of transformers,cable, equipment and other components typically located on underground powerdistribution systems. Proper placement, voltage selection and coordination withriser pole arresters minimize damaging surge voltages by improving protectivemargins.
