1. High energydensity
Although the energy density of Li-polymer battery depends on the material usedin making it, its actual energy density can reach 100-125Wh/kg and 240-300Wh/L(2 times that of Ni-Cd battery and 1.5 times that ofNi-MH battery). Due to the rapid development of technology, the energy densityof lithium polymer battery will achieve 150Wh/kg and 400 Wh/Lin the near future.
2. High operating voltage
The average operating voltage of a single cell is 3.7V,which is equal to the voltage of three Ni-Cd batteriesor Ni-MH batteries in series.
3. Long cycle life
Li-polymer batteries offer over 500 charge-discharge cycles when used instandard conditions (232).
4. Environmentally safe
As they contain no or a very small amount of hazardous metals (like cadmium,lead or mercury) that comply with the international standard, Li-polymer batteriesare safe to use for the environment.
