Self Priming JET Pump
Our self priming JET pump integrates the function of a centrifugal pump and a jet pump. Its self priming characteristic arises from its centrifugal force. Due to that, self priming JET pumps are also known as self priming centrifugal pumps.
Working principle:
Before a self priming JET pump starts working, the pump body and suction pipe should be full of water, thus achieving a vacuum status interior of the pump. Once the power supply is supplied, the water inside the pump will rotate in a fast speed along with the rotation of impeller and finally will be thrown out of the pump. Thus a vacuum area is formed in the central part of the impeller.
As a result of the pressure difference inside and outside of the pump, water will be continuously sucked into a water pump. This is the process how a self priming JET pump works.
Warm suggestions:
Before starting a self priming JET pump, the pump body should be filled with water. Or else, the self priming pump will generate lots of heat, vibrate severely and reduce outflow, which may destroy a water pump.
Classifications of a self priming centrifugal pump:
1. By the suction type of the impeller, they can be divided into single suction and double suction self priming pump;
2. By the number of impellers, there are single stage and multistage self priming centrifugal pumps.
3. By the structure of the impeller, self priming water pumps can be divided into open impeller types, unshrouded impeller types and enclosed impeller type water pumps.
4. By the working pressure, there are low-pressure, medium-pressure and high-pressure centrifugal water pumps.
