1. A glazed flat-plate solar collector iscomposed of a shallow rectangular box with a flat black plate behind a temperedglass cover.
2. The plate is attached to a series of parallel tubes or one serpentine tube,through which water or another liquid (such as an antifreeze solution) passes.
3. Sunlight passes through the glazing and heats the absorber plate, which canchange solar energy into heat energy. The heat is transferred to liquid passingthrough pipes attached to the absorber plate.
4. There is no water in the tubes, so it is unlikely to break
