Thanks to the upgrading of technology and equipment, casing welding impact is greatly increased by improving casing extrusion and welding angle. As a result, ERW casing achieves good welding performance. In fact, the impact value of the ERW casing is nearly the same as base metal.

Applications
Fastube ERW casing is used in oil or gas wells to prevent collapse of their walls or boreholes. It is assembled and inserted into a recently drilled section of a borehole and held into place with cement. ERW casing plays an important role in preventing collapse and ensuring circular flow of drilling fluid, thus facilitating the drilling process.

There are different types of casing used in oilfield exploitation operations.
1. Surface casing: A casing head is installed on the top of the casing to hang and support subsequent casing at each zone. Surface casing is used to isolate freshwater zones and so prevent them from being contaminated by drilling fluid.
2. Intermediate casing: It is used to isolate zones with different pressures as well as complex strata likely to collapse and leak, making it possible to install anti-burst device and anti-leakage device in the well.
3. Production casing: It is used to protect production zone, and provide tunnel for transporting oil and gas.
