Applications

Biochemistry: It is a synthetic auxin (acting like indolylacetic acid).
Mode of action: It is a selectivesystemic herbicide, absorbed by the leaves and roots, with ready translocationthroughout the plant via both the symplastic and apoplastic systems. It acts asan auxin-like growth regulator.
Uses: Dicamba is used for the control of annual and perennialbroad-leaved weeds and brush species in cereals, maize, sorghum, sugar cane,asparagus, perennial seed grasses, turf, pastures, rangeland, and non-cropland. It is used in combination with many other herbicides. The dosage varieswith specific use and ranges from 0.1 to 0.4 kg/ha for crop use, higher rates in pasture.
Phytotoxicity: Most legumes aresensitive.
