The ceramic foam filter has the advantages of high porosity, lowloss of thermal shock, high mechanical strength at normal and hightemperatures, large specific surface, good chemical stability, and is resistantto high temperature, chemical corrosion, and the scour of molten metal. Itcomes with excellent filtering functions and can effectively collect residuumand absorb especially tiny impurities of 1~10m. Due to these advantages, the honeycomb ceramic foam filteris used to filter and purify the liquid metal in metallurgy casting.
With its three-dimensional structure, the ceramic foam filter cangreatly improve casting quality as it can change the molten metal fromturbulence flow to lamellar flow, remove the gas and smooth the casting. Whenturbulent liquid metal is running through the cell holes of a ceramic foamfilter, it forms into a uniform and clean stream getting into the model evenly.The impurities of particles the size of micrometer and trapped air bubbles canbe removed effectively. This can prevent the founding model from eroding andthe scrap rate can be decreased. The ceramic foam filter can be madein different holes and porosity upon to use\'s demands.
