Fruits and vegetables are fed and distributed continuously a uniformly on alower belt. Later in the wedge zone, a stable filter cake is built with anincreasing surface pressure on the fruits and vegetables. In the first stage, aroller is used to provide for a quick discharge of the separated liquid to thesides. In a second stage, the products are pressed by multiple press rollerswith decreasing roller diameters. The products are then dewatered quickly bychanging the pressure and shear stress. To maintain the performance of themachine, the belts are cleaned continuously and with high pressure spraynozzles.
