Accumulator

An accumulator offersindirect function for receiving the strip steel from the uncoiler and feeding stripsteel materials to pipe making machines. In other words, it is designed to storethe strip steel material before it is delivered to pipe forming machines, thus ensuringcontinuous operation.

The accumulator can be classified into cage loop and horizontal spiral ones.
Cage loop accumulator has been used as the material-storage device in ERW pipemaking machine very early. It is designed in a vertical cage structure which issimple and easy for making. It requires low cost. The strip steel materials arestored in it in folded manner. Hence, the cage loop accumulator is onlysuitable for store steel strips coming with of thickness less than 3mm.
Horizontal spiral accumulator is more suitable for storage of strip steelmaterials with a thickness of 6mmor above. It can store very long materials and boasts no surface damage to stripsteel materials. Meanwhile, the horizontal spiral accumulator requires smaller enginepower as compared with cage loop one.
